Missile Master

Destroy missiles before they destroy you

Page Last Updated: April 1, 2006

System Requirements

This game is requires Java 1.1 or better to run. Browsers that support 1.1 tend to be 4.x or better versions. Windows XP users may have to download a Java plug in to use Java applets.

Introduction

This is the single player version of my multi-player Missile Master game (which has never been released). The economic and offensive components of the game have been removed with the focus of this game being the arcade sequence.

Playing the Game

The goal of the game is to prevent your cities from being destroyed by your opponents (in this case, the nine computer opponents out to destroy you). To defend your cities, you have three Anti-Missile Missile (AMM) Launchers, each with its own supply of AMMs. The amount of AMMs you have is dependent on the level you are currently playing.

During the game missiles will rain down on you and planes will fly by dropping bombs on you (the color of the missile/plane indicates which opponent launched it). Any missiles that hit a city or launcher will destroy that city or launcher. These missiles can be destroyed by launching an AMM at the missile by moving the cursor to where you wish to shoot and pressing the mouse button. The active launcher closest to the target will launch an AMM towards that point. When the AMM reaches it's target point it explodes. Any missiles or planes caught in the explosion will be destroyed.

When all the opponents missiles have reached their target or have been destroyed, the level will end. You will receive a score based on how well you performed that level. You will get a replacement for one of your cities and one of your launchers for every 5000/10000 points (depending on difficulty level) you earn. If you already have all your cities/launchers you will get a shield over one. Shields absorb the impact of a single missile. Each city/launcher can have up to three levels of shield, which is indicated by the color of the shield.

There are 20 different levels in the game. Once you have reached level 20, the game starts over but missiles come at a faster pace and you have fewer AMMs to use. Opponents use six different types of missiles and three different types of planes against you. The game ends when all your cities have been destroyed.
