NIM

While I have already created a Flash version of NIM and wanted to port my older Java games to HTML5 before starting to port my Flash games to HTML5, I got an email where someone pointed out that my HTML5 games use JavaScript which is not part of the HTML5 specifications. The Script tag, however, is part of the specifications and there are links to the ECMAScript specifications within theHTML5 specs so using JavaScript can clearly be considered as HTML5. Still, I started thinking about creating a game without any scripting language or server side code doing the work. I was sure that I had done this before, but if so never posted the game. So I decided to create a variation of NIM without using the script tag. Other games that could be done without scripting are choose-your-own-adventure style games or any other path-oriented game. I am sure with a bit of server-side coding there would be a bunch more games that could be created without any scripting. The fact of the matter is that we do have scripting so there is little need for doing this other than the personal goal of proving it is possible.
