Remove all the blocks to clear the level

Page Last Updated: March 2nd, 2012

Introduction

Falling block games are quite common. When I originally designed this game I had been playing a few different variations of falling block games.I thought to myself 'What if instead of the game field filling up, you had to clear it out?" Hence this game was born. Color Collapse First appeared on my old site in March of 1998, which in itself was based on a unreleased C++ game I wrote a long time ago (1995, I believe but would have to look through old disks to make sure). The original C++ game was more or less a prototype. Now, I am finally gettting around to modifying the game by adding new game modes and new features to the game. Right now, however, the new version is in very early development and is more or less a port of the Java version to Flash, though I may be swithching the platform to HTML 5/JavaScript. With 2012 being dedicated to Twelve Months of Doomsday, there will not be very many updates of this game until 2013 when I hope to release new builds every month or two. For those who are curious, each release represents about 20-40 hours of development time and I am figuring that all the features I want to add will take about 200-400 hours of work.

Playing the Game

Color Collapse is a puzzle game where the goal is to remove all the colored blocks from the play field. Clicking on a group of color blocks removes all the connected blocks of that color. A block is considered to be connected only if the two blocks are horizontally or vertically connected. All the connected blocks will be removed and any blocks above the removed group will fall to fill in any gap. When you finish a level, you will be presented with a password for the next level (unless the level you are playing is the last level in that section). By typing the password in on the password text field then pressing the Use Password button, you can go directly to that level. You may want to write down all the passwords

System Requirements

This game currently requires Flash. Once finished iOS and Android versions will probably be released.
