The Basic Game

The first phase of the real game is to get multiple dice rolls working in flex. While I could have opted to have moving dice like I did with the Flash based games I did earlier, I instead decided that I would go with keep/roll toggle buttons.

The first challenge in this phase was to get the dice and the buttons displaying properly. The implementing of the keep/roll toggle buttons came up and I realized that I would have to alter my TextButton class to allow for it to handle changing the text of the text button on the fly. I also decided to allow the label assigned to the button to be read. This proved to be a very valuable decision as moments later I was taking advantage of this frivolous feature. I am using the text assigned on the button to determine which dice should be rolled when the rolling of the dice is being handled.

Note that I forgot to change the name of the subtitle when making the final build of the game so the title screen, is wrong but as I never noticed this ironic mistake until after the day was finished I did not go back and fix this minor bug.
