The classic naval war game

Introduction

In this classic game that use to be played with pen and paper, but now is played on a board with easily lost plastic pieces, you control a fleet of ships. You have an opponent who also controls a fleet of ships. Your goal is to destroy your opponents fleet of ships before your opponent can destroy your fleet of ships.

Playing the Game

When the title screen appears (after the loading bar has vanished), click on it to start. You will be then taken to the ship layout screen where you place your ships.

You have to place your five ships on the grid. A white rectangle indicated where you are about to place the ship. When the rectangle is red, the ship is not in a valid location. The direction that a ship is facing can be changed by hitting the space bar. Click the mouse button when the ship is positioned where you want it.

Once all your ships have been placed, you and the computer trade turns shooting. Select the location you want to shoot at and press the mouse button. If you hit one of the computers ships, a reddish-orange circle will be placed at that location. If you miss, a whitish-blue circle will be placed at that location.

The game continues until all the ships in either your fleet or the computers fleet has been sunk. To skip through the screen transition animations, just click the mouse button.

System Requirements

This game is requires Java 1.1 or better to run. Browsers that support 1.1 tend to be 4.x or better versions. Windows XP users may have to download a Java plug in to use Java applets.
