Meeting the neighbors

This episode revolves around a conversation. Below is a flowchart outlining the paths through the conversation. As you can see, it is a fairly simple conversation. Okay, okay... simple compared to the Gordian knot.

Flowchart of Episode 13 conversation

Of course, the conversation is only half of the story. The other half of the story is the scoring of the game. While I personally do not play games to get the highest possible score, I know a lot of people who do. Unlike the conversation flowchart, scoring is actually very easy in this episode. There are five actions that earn a point in the game. There are no actions that result in a negative score. Some conversation paths, however, do lead to death and dying wipes out your score. The actions that earn you a point are:

Asking where you are. Obviously this is an important thing to know when you are lost. Sadly, the answer is not that helpful, but at least you tried.

Asking about Mr. Puck. As you will find out in future episodes, Mr. Puck is actually a very important piece of future episodes.

Asking the hermit if he is Charles. More about my naming goof in the next section. This fact really is important in future episodes.

Former Servant. As part of the quest the hermit wants you to go on, you will need to deal with Mr. Puck's former servant, so it is best that you find out about it.

Sunfruit. Well, after getting through the game having a score of 0 would not be very satisfactory so I made sure that one conversation element that had to be selected earned you a point.
