Level 4: Fake Floors

This level was originally meant to introduce the concept of the fake floor. Unlike some of the other concept introducing levels, this once has a slime in it, which make the discovery of the fake floors much more tense.

Go to the rope that is on the far right of the screen. Do this quickly because there is a slime quickly approaching you. When you reach the top, cross over on the chain until you are over the portable hole. Drop down to pick up the hole then run to the other side of the platform to get the energy crystal. Climb down the ladder and grab the hole that is to the left of the ladder. Run to the other side to get the energy crystal and surprise! A series of fake floor drops you all the way down to the chain. Thankfully the chain prevents the slime from reaching you.

You now have a problem. The slime is using the rope and you need to get back up the rope. The way to solve this problem is to simply cross over the chain until you are beside the ladder. Drop down. Wait for the slime to get closer to the ladder than the rope and climb up the ladder and cross the chain. The slime will follow you up the ladder and start crossing the chain with you, but you have a bit of a head start so you should be easily able to reach the rope and climb to the top and then cross over the chain. I travel along the chain until I am over the ladder and wait until the slime is over the platform at which point I drop down and drop a hole to my right. While it is theoretically possible to solve this level without destroying the slime, it is much more difficult. The slime is destroyed here because I know it is a safe spot. This could have been done on the bottom beneath the chain as well, though there is a tiny amount of risk added (namely accidentally falling into the hole and being forced to forfeit a life).

After you gather the other hole and gem (by carefully moving through the other platforms avoiding the fake floors on the far right) you will have to drop off the platform so that you can climb back up the rope and go over the chain to the metal platform. Get the crystal in the top left corner of the screen. Go back to the chain and drop down to the lower metal platform. As you should already know, you can not use portable holes on metal, which leads to the question of how to get to the platform that is right below this metal platform. The answer is fake floors. Simply go to the left end of the platform and a fake floor will drop you to the brick platform below.

Drop a hole and go down to gather the first row of crystals. Now drop a hole anywhere but the far right of the platform you are on as there is a trap door in the grass on the far right. Gather the left and center crystals before gathering the crystal on the right because when you grab the rightmost crystal you will drop down the fake floor (which isn’t disastrous but will add a lot of climbing to get back to where you were. When you get the final crystal and drop down, you can simply go to the exit on your left.
