Level 6: Dirt

While there is a slime to contend with, this level is more of a puzzle level than anything else. Of course, puzzles are best dealt with when one has time to think. I personally find it hard to think when there is a slime-like creature chasing me. Especially when that creature is trying to eat me. But that could just be me. Still, that will be the first thing that I deal with in my solution.

While it may not seem intuitive, the first thing that needs to be done is to let the slime get near you. This is because you want the slime to follow you. If the slime is too far away and you climb down the rope, the slime will stay on the other side of the barrier. When the slime is a couple of spaces away from you, climb down the rope until you reach the portable hole. Grab the hole by moving into it. You then want to work your way, as quickly as possible, to the top left corner of the screen. Drop the hole over top the portable hole just below you. Wait for the slime to run over the portable hole creating a permanent hole at that location. You can now jump through this hole to get a new portable hole.

Climb down the ladder and move right until you are left of the energy crystal that is on a ledge. Drop the hole so you can retrieve the energy crystal. Dropping down will get you a replacement hole. Now work your way to the bottom right corner where there are two more holes and an energy crystal. Grab them. Next work your way to the energy crystal near the top right corner of the screen that is beside a rope. Once you have this crystal, back up and drop a portable hole so you can retrieve the energy crystal below it. Next, work your way back to the spot you dropped the hole and retrieve it. Climb up to the top of the rope and cross over the chain, but before you step on the grass, drop a hole there. Drop down and drop another hole so you can retrieve the portable and jump through.

Drop a hole over the energy crystal to the left of you. Work your way back up and retrieve the hole. Then climb to the top and retrieve the two holes (grab the topmost one then drop down and grab the bottom one). Place the hole over the energy crystal and get the energy crystal and the hole. Climb back up and retrieve the hole. Now work your way to the top left corner and drop down the permanent hole. Climb onto the ladder and drop a hole to the left. Move down a notch and drop another hole, then move down another notch and drop a third hole. Walk left to get a portable hole and four energy crystals. Climb up the ladder and retrieve the portable hole on your way to the long ladder. Climb up the ladder and as you work your way back to the permanent hole, drop the four holes you have behind you . Drop through the permanent hole and retrieve the three holes.

Work your way to the row of holes and working from left to right, lay down another three holes. Climb up the ladder and retrieve the first three holes that make up the top layer. Drop down and drop a couple holes so the first hole is over the energy crystal and the second hole is beside it. Drop down and drop your final hole over the last energy crystal. Grab the last crystal and head for the exit.
