Planning Sic Bo

This is the first time I tried to create a live game in a day. By live, I simply mean that this is being developed on the day that it is going to be released. A rational person would look at the potential dice games that belong in the Dozen Days of Dice series and choose the easiest one to do. While that idea did cross my mind, I instead looked at my list of potential dice games for this collection and decided that Sic Bo sounds the most interesting to me at the moment, so I went with that. It is one of the most, if not the most, difficult games to implement on the list. While the game mechanics are simple enough, there are 50 different bets in the game! That means that I have about 15 minutes per bet. Granted, a lot of the bets are similar, so with tricks I should be able to get this down to half a dozen different types of bets.

Sic Bo is a Casino game that has Chinese origins. People who have played my Ultimate Retro Project's Chuck-A-Luck game probably have some idea of the game as this is essentially Chuck-A-Luck on steroids. You are betting on the results of three dice being rolled. You can bet on which numbers will come up, which what number can result, combinations of numbers, doubles, triples, and if the result is high or low. In casino's this is all done on a fancy table that often lights up, so my goal is to have the lighting up of winning bets.

The first step, pre-alpha, will be getting the layout done. Next is to implement the detection of winning results. Next comes actually letting players place bets on the board. Then fine tuning everything and I will consider this a success. Sounds easy enough but there is a lot of work ahead of me so I better get to work!
