Classic Cribbage

The modern version of a classic card game

Page Last Updated: October 5, 2007

If you haven't played through the classic version of this game then you have probably not read the overview explaining that Cribbage is an English card game that was created by poet John Suckling a few centuries ago. This computer version only supports the two player version of the game though there are 3, 4 and 6 player versions. The goal of the game is to be the first to reach 121 or more points, though some variations of the game only play to 61 points. You earn points based on the hand you keep, pegging during the game play, and by the cards in the crib if the crib is yours.

This version of the game allows for both human vs human and human vs computer play. If you are playing against a human, the hand of the player will be hidden between players so that only the player who's turn it is can see the cards in their hand.

System Requirements

This game is requires Java 1.1 or better to run. Browsers that support 1.1 tend to be 4.x or better versions. Windows XP users may have to download a Java plug in to use Java applets.
